NOTES OF PARISH COUNCIL MEETING – 10 JANUARY

Present – Neil Blake, Peter Lemaire, Sue Pryce-Jones, Dee Rosier

Apologies – John Lockyer

Pavilion – Councillors agreed to a deposit of £100 being required prior to hiring. The hiring fee would now be £25 a session with a cancellation fee of £15.

Rabbits Hill – as another car had come to grief on this tricky section of road, councillors are asking for a road sign warning unsuspecting motorists to ‘Slow down – Adverse camber’.

Parish Plan – more open consultation with residents had to be planned before funds could be released. Every villager will need to be involved.

Hampden Way – a single resident had complained to SOHA, so they had re-built a fence by the garages. For many years this had been an unofficial footpath. Councillors felt that a questionnaire to local residents would gauge public reaction and suggested a gate being put into the fence to allow access.

Post Office – planning application had been submitted for change of use. Councillors felt that there were many reasons against the application. Mainly that it goes against the government policy of encouraging sustainable rural communities.

Please remember that these are only brief notes from the Parish Council meetings. The full minutes can be seen on the notice board outside the Reading Room and at Green Lane. They can also be accessed on the website www.ewelme.info or sent to you via email from the Parish Clerk, Sue Hill.
