Local Government

Oxfordshire County Council is responsible for many of Ewelme's services such as education, social services and highways.

South Oxfordshire District Council is responsible for other services such as planning, refuse collection and housing.

The Parish Council has 6 members and a clerk.  They meet in the Village Hall, usually on the second Wednesday of the month.  This is subject to change, so check on the notice board outside the Village Hall.

The Ewelme News (plans are for back issues to be available here) is published bi-monthly (Jan, Mar, May, Jul, Sep and Nov) and the Benson Bulletin is also delivered to all households.
 
Ewelme is in the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty not far from the River Thames.

We are between Oxford and Reading and our nearest town is Wallingford


Recycling

We generate alot of waste each year, much of which can be recycled - SODC provides a green box collection scheme from each household and provides recycling banks in key locations - details can be found on the SODC website here.
